Chuwi to Launch CoreBook Air and Air Plus Laptops with AMD Ryzen
Chuwi will be launching CoreBook Air and CoreBook Air Plus laptops, featuring AMD Ryzen APU mileages. Chuwi is busy preparing new lightweight laptops which would see international launches next month, in the form of the aforementioned 14-inch CoreBook Air and 16-inch CoreBook Air Plus. Both the models would run AMD Ryzen processors with a price tag mainly catering to entry-level buyers, with prices expected to be around or under $600 as a starting price.

Processor Options Vary by Region
The processor configuration appears to be the most confusing aspect of this launch. Available information suggests that the global versions are expected to feature the 6-core, 12-thread AMD Ryzen 5 6600H "Rembrandt" processor, which was the 2022 product based on the Zen 3+ architecture.
However, there is a higher-performance version listed in Hong Kong with the AMD Ryzen 7 H 255 "Hawk Point" processor, a chip based on the more recent Zen 4 architecture and featuring 8 cores and 16 threads and a more powerful Radeon 780M iGPU. It is still uncertain whether this potent configuration will be available worldwide.
Other Key Features and Connectivity
- Memory & Storage: Expected configurations will provide up to 32GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB of storage. Although the SSD is PCIe 3.0, the slot supports user upgrades to PCIe 4.0.
- Ports: Three USB Type-C ports, one USB Type-A port, HDMI 2.1 port, and 3.5mm audio jack.
- Wireless: Supporting WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.
- Extra: Both models feature a 1080p webcam and a backlit keyboard.
Pricing and Availability
Chuwi envisions starting prices of less than $600 for the base configuration of CoreBook Air. Both CoreBook Air and CoreBook Air Plus are expected to have global launches in December.
