Crystal Dynamics Teases Two Future Tomb Raider Titles at TGA 2025
Crystal Dynamics announced two different Tomb Raider games that are currently in development during The Game Awards 2025. These programs will remake the original game and create a new entry in the series.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis (2026)
The first title is called `Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis`. This is a comprehensive reimagining of the first game in the franchise. Unreal Engine 5 is the tech platform for development, linking the narrative in the modern reboot trilogy with the classic ups. Development assistance comes from Flying Wild Hog, the creators of `Shadow Warrior` and `Evil West`, to the team at Crystal Dynamics.
- Game Type: Reimagining of the first Tomb Raider.
- Engine: Unreal Engine 5.
- Story Purpose: To bridge the reboot and classic sagas.
- Features: The game is, according to its developers, set to be redefined and accompanied by other surprises.
- It would be released in: 2026.
There would be an exclusive offer for a limited time, offering players the opportunity to claim the swimsuit from `Tomb Raider: Underworld` as an in-game cosmetic item by linking an Amazon ID to their Steam, PlayStation Network, or Xbox account.
Tomb Raider: Catalyst (2027)
To add to the reimagining, Crystal Dynamics is already developing `Tomb Raider: Catalyst`, an entirely new adventure. This trailer teaser shows that the story of Lara Croft will take place in Northern India after a gigantic cataclysm. This new adaptation will be released in 2027.
Lara Croft's New Voice Announced
Alyx Wilton Regan will voice and perform Lara Croft in both `Legacy of Atlantis` and `Catalyst`. Regan has previously worked in games such as `Cyberpunk 2077` and `Ghost Recon Breakpoint`, and was originally intended to be the lead character in the now-canceled reboot of `Perfect Dark`.
