Sony Unveils PS-LX5BT Turntable with Digital Connectivity
Sony has introduced the PS-LX5BT turntable, its first new model in six years. The product serves as a high-end turntable which combines contemporary digital functionality through Bluetooth wireless technology and USB audio streaming with traditional vinyl record playback.
Key Features and Specifications
The PS-LX5BT system offers users simple operation together with exceptional sound reproduction. The core functions of the system include:
- Playback: The system plays both 7-inch and 12-inch records through its two playback speeds of 33⅓ and 45 rpm using its automatic start and stop functions. The system uses a belt drive system together with an aluminum tonearm. The package includes a transparent dust cover which protects the turntable.
- Audio Output: The system provides two connection options which are traditional RCA cable links and Bluetooth wireless audio transmission. The Bluetooth system supports three codecs which include aptX, aptX-Adaptive and Hi-Res Wireless Audio.
- Built-in Preamp: The device features an integrated phono preamp which offers three different gain settings for users to choose from: Low (-4 dB), Mid (0 dB) and High (+6 dB).
- Digitization: Users have the ability to create digital copies of their vinyl record audio content which they can save onto a USB storage device.
