Konami Delists Legacy Metal Gear Solid Titles Without Warning

After February 2026, Konami started removing digital copies of Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol 2 because they announced the collection at their State of Play event. The company executed these delistings across multiple platforms and generations without informing the general public about their actions.

The franchise reported multiple older video game versions got removed from digital marketplaces. The delisted titles include

  • Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker The Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PSP versions have been removed. The store page for the Peace Walker HD edition on the PS3 is currently inaccessible.
  • Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots The 2014 digital release on the PlayStation Network (PSN) has been delisted.

The Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol 2 announcement led to the studio removing digital content from the online store. The new collection supports multiple current gaming systems, which include

  • Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2
  • PlayStation 5
  • Xbox Series XS
  • PC via Steam

The new collection makes titles playable on modern systems yet original digital versions got removed, which blocks access for customers using PS3 and Xbox 360 legacy systems.
