iReader has introduced the Air 3 Pro Boyuan edition, an 8.2 inch e reader that adds an integrated front light to the lineup. The device features a sharp Carta 1300 display with physical page turn buttons and a CNC metal frame. It is currently available in China for 2799 yuan, which works out to roughly $390 USD.

The screen represents a noticeable jump in visual clarity. It uses an 8.2 inch Carta 1300 panel pushing a resolution of 1920x1440 at 293 PPI. iReader integrated an adjustable reading light that lets users tune brightness and color temperature across 30 distinct levels. To keep digital text and illustrations crisp, the software uses 256 grayscale 3.0 rendering for smoother transitions between dark and light tones.

The hardware build is surprisingly slim at just 5.4 millimeters, with the entire package weighing in at 270 grams. An integrated CNC metal chassis gives the device structural rigidity. Along the edge, you get 2 customizable physical buttons that can handle page turns, take screenshots, or return to the home screen. There is also a touch sensitive virtual back button and a dedicated shortcut key for AI tasks at the bottom bezel.

Under the hood, the tablet runs on an 8 core processor built on a 6 nanometer process alongside a standalone graphics chip. Memory sits at 4GB of RAM paired with 64GB of onboard storage. If you need more room for large book collections, a microSD slot supports expansion up to 2TB. The 2600mAh battery delivers up to 65 hours of continuous reading time or 18 days on standby.

Software duties are handled by SmartOS 4.0. The operating system includes one touch optimization profiles for third party applications, which users can customize and share. For document heavy workflows, the software offers deep PDF support. You can reflow messy documents, wipe out watermarks, and switch page layouts on the fly without bogging down the processor.
