OM SYSTEM PEN Brings Weather Sealing and Electronic Viewfinder to Classic Body

OM SYSTEM has introduced the PEN retro mirrorless camera with standalone body pricing set at 5999 yuan, which converts to roughly 840 USD. The compact Micro Four Thirds shooter brings IPX1 dust and splash resistance, an integrated OLED electronic viewfinder, and a 20.37 megapixel sensor to a vintage rangefinder body. Buyers looking for a complete setup can pick up the kit with the updated 14 to 42mm zoom lens for 6999 yuan or approximately 980 USD.

At the center of the camera sits a 20.37 megapixel Live MOS sensor paired with the TruePic IX image processor. The autofocus hardware receives a major speed boost by switching to 121 all cross type phase detection points. It tracks moving subjects reliably, offering dedicated recognition modes for humans as well as cats and dogs. The internal 5 axis stabilization system provides up to 5.5 stops of shake compensation in the center and 4.5 stops along the edges of the frame. Even with these mechanical upgrades, the body remains portable at 393 grams including the battery and memory card.

Physical controls sit right at your fingertips for instant creative adjustments. A dedicated front switch lets you toggle custom color and monochrome profiles to recreate classic film looks without opening a menu. The body also features a dedicated computational photography button that instantly triggers handheld high resolution capture, focus stacking, and Live ND simulations ranging from ND2 to ND16. Eye level framing returns to the lineup through a built in 2.36 million dot OLED viewfinder, marking the first time a PEN body has included one since the PEN F release in 2016.

Video creators get standard 4K at up to 30 frames per second, cinematic 4K at 24 frames per second, and slow motion capture reaching 120 frames per second. Color grading workflows are supported through OM Log400 and two custom cinema color profiles. Alongside the camera body, OM SYSTEM introduced the IPX1 rated 14 to 42mm F3.5 to 5.6 III standard zoom lens. Weighing only 125 grams, this optic delivers a versatile 28 to 84mm full frame equivalent focal range, a close focus distance of 0.13 meters, and 0.53x maximum image magnification.
