Panasonic has introduced 5 new fully automatic Blu ray recorders equipped with direct cloud backup capabilities. The lineup includes the DMR 4Xx10 series with up to 10TB of storage for 4K broadcasts and the DMR 2Xx10 series with multi channel capture. The hardware allows users to offload television recordings directly to Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive.
The hardware lineup divides into 2 main tiers based on recording capacity. At the top sits the DMR 4Xx10 series, offered in 10TB and 4TB capacities. This model is built to capture 4K satellite broadcasts, holding up to 13 days of continuous ultra high definition footage from a single channel. For standard broadcast needs, Panasonic created the DMR 2Xx10 series in 6TB, 4TB, and 2TB options. This version can record up to 10 separate high definition channels simultaneously for 28 days.
Both series include standard tools such as playlist editing and automatic file overwrite when internal storage fills up. The primary upgrade is the integration of cloud storage. Instead of locking footage to a local drive or physical disc, the recorders can sync video directly to Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive. This allows owners to access their saved television broadcasts across multiple locations without handling physical media.
