Razer has launched the Razer Prio, an ultra portable mobile gaming controller that folds down to roughly the size of a credit card. The device expands with a twist mechanism to fit phones with screens up to 7 inches and connects directly over USB C. It is available now priced at 99.99 dollars in the United States and 799 yuan in China.
Traditional mobile game pads are bulky and annoying to carry in your pocket. Razer designed the Prio to solve that specific headache. When folded, the chassis measures just 107 by 67 by 23 millimeters and weighs 101 grams. The folding mechanism uses a simple twist motion to open up and lock onto your device. It easily accommodates massive flagship devices like the iPhone 17 Pro Max and the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. You do not even have to remove your phone case, provided it is under 16 millimeters thick.
Despite shrinking the overall footprint, Razer kept a full size button layout. You get low profile thumbsticks, a tactile 4 way D pad, standard face buttons, shoulder bumpers, and triggers. Stick drift is always a massive worry for portable controllers. To combat this, Razer built the thumbsticks with capacitive contactless sensors that track movement without physical friction points wearing down over time.
Connecting the pad is direct and latency free. It plugs right into the phone via USB C, completely bypassing Bluetooth pairing issues and battery drain. The controller draws minimal power straight from the handset, so you never need to charge it separately. It works with iOS 18 devices as well as Android 14 and newer versions. A dedicated shortcut button instantly boots up the Razer Cortex Mobile application to manage your library. Gamers can run native mobile titles or stream heavier games through services like Xbox Cloud Gaming, Steam Link, PS Remote Play, and Razer PC Remote Play.
