The anniversary edition brings distinct cosmetic changes that pay tribute to the 1996 film original. Both the shutter release and the rear control buttons feature a chrome coating formulated to match the finish on the classic GR1. Powering down the camera displays a dedicated anniversary graphic on the rear screen. Ricoh also designed a custom diamond cut lens ring designated as the GN 3 30th. This ring draws direct inspiration from the bezel of the original film model, adding visual brilliance when the lens retracts while eliminating stray reflections during shooting.

Each kit arrives with a dedicated bundle of collector items created specifically for this release. Buyers receive a genuine leather finger strap with 30th Anniversary text stamped into the material alongside an engraved metal hot shoe cover. Ricoh has also bundled a complete collection of 16 distinct commemorative pins inside the box. With only 6,000 units allocated for worldwide distribution, the kit stands as a premium collector option for dedicated GR enthusiasts.
