Memory manufacturer Transcend Information posted August revenue of 4.837 billion New Taiwan dollars (approx. $152.7 million USD), jumping 275.47% compared to the same period last year. Cumulative revenue for the first 8 months reached 42.48 billion New Taiwan dollars (approx. $1.34 billion USD), representing a 384% annual increase. But monthly sales slipped 6.89% as high component prices cooled consumer purchasing.
The enterprise side of the business continues to carry total sales. Demand for embedded memory products expanded through August, keeping overall factory output near record levels. Corporate clients continue to order storage hardware despite broader price swings in the silicon market.
Consumer sales tell a different story. Memory costs rose throughout the year, and retail buyers are feeling the squeeze. As shelf prices went up, consumer interest pulled back. Factory testing bottlenecks also delayed outgoing shipments during the month. Even with those delays, Transcend stated that underlying customer demand remains solid across core product lines.
