Xiaomi has launched the POCO X8 in international markets. The budget smartphone packs a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor, a 120Hz AMOLED screen, and an enormous 8340mAh battery. The device is now rolling out in Europe starting at 319 euros.
The hardware comes wrapped in an 8.6 millimeter chassis that weighs 223 grams. Color options include silver, orange, and black. Up front, you get a 6.83 inch AMOLED display with a sharp 2772x1280 resolution. The screen hits a peak brightness of 3500 nits during HDR playback and refreshes at 120Hz. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protects the glass panel from drops and scratches. Xiaomi also added both IP68 and IP69K ingress protection ratings, giving the body strong defense against high pressure water jets and dust.
Inside, the POCO X8 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 mobile platform. Memory configurations include 6GB, 8GB, or 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Storage tops out at 256GB of UFS 3.1 speed, though the base 128GB version relies on slower UFS 2.2 flash memory. Battery life is clearly the main attraction here. The phone houses an 8340mAh battery pack that supports 67W wired fast charging to get you back up to full capacity quickly.
For photography, the back panel carries a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization to keep shots steady. A basic 2MP auxiliary lens sits next to it, while the front cutout holds a 16MP selfie camera. The software runs on HyperOS 3, which includes a dedicated underwater mode for shooting photos and video beneath the surface. Connectivity covers Wi Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, 2 SIM slots, and an optical fingerprint scanner built beneath the glass.
European buyers can pick up the 8GB RAM model with 256GB of storage for an introductory price of 319 euros. Stepping up to the 12GB RAM version with 256GB storage pushes the launch tag to 359 euros.
