Baseus has released the Hurricane 3, a 160W desktop charger equipped with an internal active cooling fan to prevent thermal throttling. The unit features 3 USB Type C ports and a built in 1.8 inch screen showing real time wattage and temperature readings. It is currently selling in China for 399 yuan, which converts to roughly $60.
An internal magnetic suspension turbofan spins at speeds up to 12500 RPM to manage heat under heavy loads. Baseus claims this cooling system increases heat dissipation efficiency by 35% and drops internal temperatures by 18 °C within 10 minutes. A quiet night mode lets users turn off the fan completely to avoid noise during sleep.
Power distribution flows across 3 USB Type C ports with a total output ceiling of 160W. Each individual connection can deliver up to 140W on its own, coordinated by PowerTune 3.0 software to balance electricity across connected hardware. 1 of the ports supports 120W charging protocols for Xiaomi phones, filling a Xiaomi 17 Pro battery to 80% in approximately 30 minutes.
A 1.8 inch color TFT screen sits on the front face of the charger. The panel provides real time data on output wattage, estimated charge completion times, temperature metrics, and system animations. Baseus has launched sales across Chinese online platforms at 399 yuan, while international distribution plans remain unannounced.
