News Saying a Double X3D Chip Ryzen 9000 CPU Might Not Be True
A fresh claim that AMD was making a Ryzen 9000 series CPU with two X3D chips is now in doubt. New data shows there is no such chip, and it would not boost speed much if it did.
No Truth to the Double X3D Talk
The first tale told of a CPU with two 3D V-Cache bits, reaching a total L3 cache of 192 MB. But a user called "wjm47196" on the Chiphell talks says it's "Fake, there is no such thing." With no real proof, it's now seen as very doubtful that this type of dual X3D CPU exists in the Ryzen 9000 line.
Small Speed Ups and Possible Downs
Even if such a dual X3D chip came out, its value in real use is hard to see. Points from 3DCenter show a Ryzen 9000 CPU with two X3D chips may only help speed by up to 4% more than a usual single X3D type like the up-and-coming Ryzen 9 9950X3D.
- Small Gain: A 4% rise might not make up for the more cost and work to make a double X3D CPU.
- Latency Worry: Two X3D chips could hurt how fast some apps work, cutting down the whole use of the chip.

A double X3D plan may fit future builds like Zen 6, but it seems not useful for the Ryzen 9000 line.

As the double X3D chat fades, the same Chiphell person hints a new X3D chip might be on the way. This chip could be close to the soon Ryzen 7 9800X3D, maybe named the Ryzen 7 9700X3D.
