Huawei nova 16 and nova 16 Pro unveiling with Kirin 9010S shared hardware distinct OLED displays and advanced 50MP camera setups for mid range mobile performance
Huawei further enhanced its mid range smartphone offerings, unveiling the nova 16 and the nova 16 Pro. As reported in Huawei official product launch event, the smartphones are designed around the concepts of sustained battery life, high speed charging, and sleek, slim designs typical of the product line. Both devices boast the same internal processor while sporting distinct displays and rear camera setups.

The standard as well as Pro model are both powered by a custom Kirin 9010S chip. In order to avoid overheating during extensive usage, both smartphones feature a large vapor chamber cooling system. Both phones feature a huge 7,000 mAh battery and both support 100W fast charging. While both devices chassis only measure less than 8mm thick, they each house 7.3mm thickness for the nova 16, while the Pro boasts a thickness of 7.1mm.
The standard nova 16 is equipped with a 6.68 inch OLED screen resolution that reads Full HD+ with a refreshing rate of 120Hz. Its screen is protected by P2WB that produces 2160 Hz PWM dimming frequency for user comfort, and it covers 100 percent of the DCI P3 color gamut. The nova 16 Pro on the other hand comes with a bigger LTPO OLED display of 6.84 inches with a 1 to 120 Hz refresh rate and apeak brightness that hits 6000 nits. Its screen is also protected with the Huawei Kunlun Glass for ultimate drop and scratch resistance.
Both phones differ in their rear cameras. The base nova 16 setup consists of a 50MP main camera, a 50MP telephoto camera that sports a 3.3x optical zoom, and Huawei own Red Maple color sensor for excellent color accuracy. A 50MP selfie camera sits on the front of the base model. The nova 16 Pro, conversely, features a higher resolution 50MP main camera with a 1/1.28 inch large sensor. A 50MP telephoto lens with a 3.7x optical zoom and a 50MP ultrawide camera are also found in the back of the Pro. The front of the Pro selfie camera is a 50MP with an ambient color sensor as well for accurate portrait shots.
The memory configurations of the nova 16 are also quite varied. The nova 16 starts with 12GB of RAM paired with 256GB storage at a cost of 2999 Yuan (or about 443 USD), with an option to upgrade to 512GB for 3499 Yuan (or about 517 USD). The high end nova 16 Pro is equipped with 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage, at the cost of 3899 Yuan (or about 576 USD) while the premium nova 16 Pro comes with a huge amount of storage of 1TB at 4999 Yuan (or about 739 USD).
