Huawei Pura X View Dominates Launch Week with 282000 Units Sold

The Huawei Pura X View has dominated its opening week in China, racking up roughly 282,000 activations in its first 5 days on shelves. Powered by the Kirin 9030S chip, this wide format flat screen flagship pushed Huawei to the top market share ranking for the week with an average transaction price of 7,000 Yuan or about $980 USD. Starting at 5,999 Yuan or roughly $840 USD, the phone brings a razor thin bezel profile and a massive silicon battery to the premium space.

According to data shared by industry insider Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the handset ranked as the number 1 selling individual device across all brands during its launch period. Buyers have 3 memory configurations to pick from. The base configuration with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage retails for 5,999 Yuan, which translates to around $840 USD. Upgrading to 512GB of storage raises the cost to 6,999 Yuan or approximately $980 USD, while the top 1TB edition sells for 8,499 Yuan or roughly $1,190 USD.

Up front, the phone features a 6.39 inch OLED flat panel with a resolution of 2232 by 1320 pixels and a wider 16 to 9.5 aspect ratio. The screen has symmetrical 1.05 millimeter borders on all 4 sides, resulting in a 96.1% screen to body ratio. It delivers a 120Hz refresh rate, 2160Hz high frequency PWM dimming, and reaches a peak brightness of 6,500 nits under a layer of Kunlun Glass. IT Home reports that the Kirin 9030S processor works alongside a large 6,400 square millimeter vapor chamber to dissipate heat during intense workloads.

The rear module houses 4 separate cameras. The primary shooter uses a 200 megapixel RYYB sensor measuring 1 by 1.28 inches, paired with an f1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization. That sits next to a 50 megapixel periscope telephoto lens with an 88 millimeter equivalent focal length and an f2.6 aperture, an 8 megapixel ultra wide lens, and a second generation Red Maple color sensor. Up front, selfies and video calls rely on a 40 megapixel sensor.

Power is another major selling point for this build. Despite measuring just 6.68 millimeters thick and weighing 201 grams, the chassis holds a 7,000 mAh silicon carbon battery. The device supports 66W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. Additional features include full IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings, two way Beidou satellite communication, and eSIM capability across 4 colors: Red, Gray, White, and Black.
