AYN has announced the Odin 3 Portal, an Android gaming handheld built around a custom Qualcomm processor and a 9000 mAh battery. The device targets mobile gaming and emulation performance, pairing active fan cooling with a larger display than the base model. Pricing and retail availability remain unconfirmed, though the standard Odin 3 starts at $369.
AYN equips the Odin 3 Portal with the Qualcomm Dragonwing Q8 processor. This chip is a modified Snapdragon 8 Elite built without an integrated cellular modem, matching the processor found in the standard Odin 3. The system runs Android to support mobile games alongside multi platform emulation. AYN previously confirmed Linux compatibility for the Odin 3 architecture as well.
A 9000 mAh battery powers the handheld, providing 1000 mAh more capacity than the Odin 3 and the older Odin 2 Portal. This larger cell offsets the power demands of the expanded screen. Hardware controls include full size analog sticks using Hall effect sensors to eliminate stick drift, analog triggers, and customizable rear buttons. An internal cooling fan maintains stable temperatures during sustained gaming sessions.
