NeodraDynamics has introduced the Neo1, a massive humanoid robot built to lift payloads up to 500 kg. Standing 4 meters tall, the machine combines digital hydraulic power with high mechanical precision for extreme industrial tasks. The company debuted the working prototype at the China International Industry Fair to demonstrate an alternative to traditional fixed cranes.
The mechanical frame features 41 active degrees of freedom to control movement. Proprietary digital hydraulic actuators power 39 of these joints, with each hydraulic module weighing roughly 1 kg while generating several tons of force. Electric actuators power 2 rotational joints in the forearms to assist with delicate positioning. Together, the arms handle loads up to 500 kg while maintaining a positioning repeatability of 5 micrometers.
NeodraDynamics designed the machine for industrial operations that exceed normal robotic limits. Target uses include heavy machinery assembly, cargo transport, mining operations, and subsea infrastructure maintenance. The robot can also operate in hazardous environments like nuclear facilities or disaster zones to clear structural debris safely.
