REDMI has revealed the primary specifications for its upcoming K100 smartphone, focusing heavily on dedicated gaming hardware and a fast 165 Hz display. The handset combines the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite platform with a custom D2 graphics processor designed for frame generation. REDMI aims to position the device around 3000 yuan, though official retail pricing will be confirmed at the upcoming launch event.
REDMI runs the K100 on Qualcomm silicon built on a 3 nm fabrication process. The Snapdragon 8 Elite platform features Oryon processor cores alongside an Adreno 830 graphics unit. A secondary D2 gaming chip works alongside the main processor. This secondary chip manages real time image upscaling and inserts intermediate frames to push frame rates higher in demanding mobile titles.
The front of the phone features a flat display running at 165 Hz. Earlier supply chain leaks point to a 6.9 inch screen using Super Pixel technology to achieve 2K visual clarity with the power draw of a 1K panel. REDMI has officially verified the 165 Hz refresh rate, but has held back confirmation on the exact screen resolution and panel size.
REDMI targets the 3000 yuan price bracket for the K100, which translates to roughly $450. However, the previous generation K90 arrived with a starting price of 3499 yuan ($522) for the 12GB memory and 256GB storage configuration. The K100 will likely match or slightly exceed that price point given the upgraded dual processor hardware. Full retail details will emerge during the official product presentation scheduled for later this month.
