Sony has revealed the release details and regional pricing for the PlayStation Pulse wireless headset. The new gaming headset brings planar magnetic drivers, dual wireless connectivity, and AI audio filtering to the PlayStation hardware family. Available in black and white finishes, the headset carries a $99.99 price point across major international markets.
Sony confirmed on the official PlayStation blog that the Pulse headset uses enlarged planar magnetic drivers designed to generate deeper bass while retaining clear directional sound cues for competitive games. The acoustic system features 4 magnets on each side. This places it just below the premium Pulse Edge model, which runs an 8 magnet configuration per side. For context, the older Pulse Elite sits at $149, positioning the standard Pulse as an accessible option for audiophile grade planar technology.
Connectivity relies on standard Bluetooth alongside the proprietary PlayStation Link protocol. PlayStation Link enables lossless, low latency audio across PS5 consoles, the PlayStation Portal remote player, Mac computers, and PC systems. The hardware allows players to switch between paired audio sources instantly. Voice communication uses integrated microphones backed by AI enhanced background noise suppression to strip out household distractions during online play.
Sony also detailed the Pulse Elevate wireless speaker, an accompanying audio device using planar magnetic drivers that retails for $219.99. For the Pulse headset, international pricing is set at 89.99 pounds in the United Kingdom, 99.99 euros across the eurozone, and 15980 yen in Japan. The hardware expands Sony gaming audio ecosystem by providing planar magnetic performance at a double digit price tier.
