XREAL Unveils 1S AR Glasses with Native 2D-to-3D Conversion
XREAL now boasts an entire augmented reality product line that includes the XREAL 1S. This feature will make AR much easier for consumers while offering the first series for an exciting new feature of converting ordinary 2D content to 3D directly at the device.
Display and Visual Specifications
Weighing 82 grams, the XREAL 1S focuses on visual fidelity via its two 0.68-inch Sony OLED panels. Thus, the visual hardware comes with the following specifications:
- Resolution: 1920 x 1200 pixels for each eye.
- Refresh Rate: Untill 120 Hz for 2D content (30 Hz in 3D mode).
- Brightness: Peking at 700 nits.
- Field of View: 52 degrees.
- Color Accuracy: A color gamut metric where ΔE is <3 units.
- Light Control: Automatic switching of light transmittance between 0-35-100 % for different environments.
Performance and Audio
The internal management of processing is done by XREAL's own designed X1 chip, which tracks head movement for realistic vision. On audio, XREAL has integrated speakers from Bose and completed the unit with four directional microphones for clearer voice capture.
XREAL Neo Accessory and Battery Life
Accompanying the glasses at launch was the XREAL Neo. This 10,000 mAh portable power bank incorporates USB Type-C ports and serves as a dock station. It also caters to both generations of Nintendo Switch for more extended gaming sessions on the go.
Pricing and Availability
Currently, the XREAL 1S is only available in Japan. The aforementioned pricing is as follows:
