Foxconn is accelerating its American manufacturing footprint with a fresh acquisition in California. The electronics manufacturing giant revealed that its subsidiary Q Edge Corporation has purchased land and factory facilities in Santa Clara for $55.25 million. This property deal follows a massive $188 million capital injection into the same subsidiary to boost production of AI hardware and server racks.
Q Edge Corporation operates as a 100% owned American subsidiary for Foxconn, overseeing local assembly and regional supply chain networks. The company already manages operational bases in Indiana and Houston, Texas, where it handles computer hardware assembly and high performance computing systems. Industry analysts view the new Santa Clara property as a strategic push to expand dedicated AI factory capacity directly within Silicon Valley.
Foxconn leadership noted that global client appetite for AI capacity remains exceptional. Company executives confirmed that next generation server racks remain on track for volume production during the 3rd quarter, with customer deliveries scheduled for the 4th quarter. Shipments of GB series server racks are projected to climb every quarter, with overall AI server rack volume expected to double over the course of the year.
To meet rising orders, Foxconn is increasing its capital expenditure across international manufacturing hubs in the United States, Taiwan, Mexico, and Vietnam. Within the American market, the company plans to scale up research and production capabilities across California, Texas, Wisconsin, and Ohio.
Financial disclosures from Foxconn indicate that annual capital spending is projected to grow by more than 30% this year. Company chief financial officer David Huang confirmed that this budget expansion targets early capacity building for AI server racks, liquid cooling systems, and specialized testing facilities. By securing real estate and investing heavily in automation, Foxconn aims to solidify its regional manufacturing advantages for enterprise computing clients.
