Huawei has officially launched the FreeBuds 7, a pair of open fit earbuds featuring advanced active noise cancellation. The hardware runs on a self developed 3rd generation audio AI chip, delivering master tape quality lossless sound and up to 42 hours of total playback. They are currently available in China starting at 999 yuan (approx. $149 USD).
The core upgrade in the FreeBuds 7 is Huawei custom 3rd generation audio AI processor, which provides a 100% boost in general compute power over the previous model. the chip samples ambient noise 400,000 times per second with a processing delay of only 8μs. This architecture increases average noise reduction depth by 230% and widens the noise reduction bandwidth by 275%. Voice calls also benefit from 100dB two way quiet calling to isolate speech from background sounds.
Comfort and weight balance saw direct improvements. Each earbud weighs 4.3g, with the internal center of gravity shifted inward by 17% for a more stable fit during daily use. The charging case is more compact as well, showing a 25% decrease in total volume and a 17% reduction in weight. A real time AI sensing algorithm checks ear canal shape and wearing angle over 10,000 times every second. This setup speeds up noise cancellation response by 750% to adjust immediately when moving between loud and quiet environments.
Wireless transmission supports audio data rates up to 4.6Mbps for lossless master quality playback. The earbuds carry an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance, making them durable enough for workouts. On a single charge, the earbuds deliver 8.5 hours of continuous listening. Using the battery in the charging case pushes total operational life to 42 hours before needing a recharge.
