Samsung Galaxy A18 4G Debuts with Exynos 1610 and IP64 Rating

Samsung has introduced the Galaxy A18 4G, updating its budget lineup with a new in house processor and improved dust and water resistance. The phone retains the familiar exterior styling of its predecessor while boosting everyday durability and long term software support. European sales begin later this week with prices starting at €280 for the 128GB model.

The biggest change sits under the hood. Samsung swapped out the previous MediaTek Helio G99 silicon for its own Exynos 1610 chip. Detailed specifications for the new processor remain unannounced for now. The device comes with 4GB of RAM and internal storage configurations of 64GB, 128GB, or 256GB. You can also add extra capacity using a microSD card slot.

On the front, the phone carries over a 6.7 inch AMOLED display running at 90Hz with a 1080x2340 resolution. A small drop notch houses the 13MP selfie camera. Around back, you get 3 cameras consisting of a 50MP main lens, a 5MP ultrawide shooter, and a 2MP macro sensor. Durability gets a boost with an IP64 rating, offering better protection against dust and water splashes than the older IP54 build. The chassis measures 7.7 millimeters thick and weighs 196 grams.

Power comes from a 5000 mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging. Samsung states the phone can charge to 50% in roughly 30 minutes. Software is handled by Android 17 with the One UI 9 interface out of the box. Samsung is committing to 6 years of software updates for the device, ensuring solid longevity for a budget handset.
