Zhiyun has revealed the Lark Pocket, a compact gimbal camera aimed at the budget creator market. The device features a rotating display for vertical video and physical joystick controls alongside a motorized camera head. Zhiyun is pitching the hardware as an affordable option in the 1000 yuan range, which equals roughly $140, though official technical specifications remain under wraps.
Official promotional pictures show a physical design very similar to existing handheld stabilizers like the DJI Osmo Pocket. The top section houses a miniature mechanical gimbal that stabilizes video footage on the move. Down on the handle, creators get physical navigation tools including a directional thumbstick and a dedicated record button. The screen flips horizontally to switch between standard widescreen video and vertical formats for social platforms.
Zhiyun is currently running a closed testing program to refine software and firmware before a wider retail rollout. Selected participants must sign nondisclosure agreements and complete 2 to 3 feedback rounds tracking bugs and usability. Reviewers who submit detailed impressions and footage can qualify for a 500 yuan digital shopping reward, which translates to about $70. The company hopes this lower price point will attract creators who want dedicated video hardware without paying premium flagship prices.
