HMD has introduced the 2660 Flip Senior Edition, a clamshell phone designed specifically for older adults featuring an integrated AI voice companion named Mary. Co developed alongside inTouch, the conversational software provides storytelling, memory games, and natural dialogue tailored to a calm speaking pace. The device is currently on sale in the UK for 79.99 British pounds.
HMD integrated the Mary assistant to help combat loneliness and stimulate cognitive recall. Users start a conversation by selecting Mary from the main menu and pressing the call key. The system speaks at a measured speed, tolerates pauses without interrupting, and remembers details from earlier chats to create conversational continuity. Buyers receive 5 hours of talk time at no charge. Continued access requires a subscription costing 19.90 euros per month. This plan does not renew automatically, and letting it expire leaves all normal phone features functional.
The core hardware matches the standard 2660 Flip. The phone carries 2 displays, consisting of a 2.8 inch main screen inside and a 1.77 inch display on the outer shell. Physical controls feature large push buttons designed for clear visibility and tactile feedback. The handset runs on the S30+ operating system and supports 4G VoLTE calls across 2 SIM slots. Power comes from a user removable 1450 mAh battery. The device is sold exclusively in a black finish.
