vivo has launched the Buds Ultra, a pair of wireless earbuds featuring a hybrid acoustic architecture and active noise cancellation reaching 60 dB. The hardware supports high resolution audio via the LDAC codec and delivers up to 50 hours of total playback with the wireless charging case. The earbuds are now available in Europe priced at €199.
vivo built the acoustic system around 2 drivers positioned along the same axis in each earbud. The setup pairs a balanced armature driver developed with Knowles and a dynamic driver with a dual diaphragm. A dedicated acoustic channel separates high and low frequencies, delivering a frequency response from 16 Hz to 60 kHz. An independent Hi Fi digital to analog converter provides 113 dB of dynamic range, supporting the LDAC codec at bitrates up to 990 kbps for high resolution streaming.
The Intelligent Noise Cancellation 2.0 system uses 4 microphones to suppress ambient sound by up to 60 dB across frequencies reaching 5500 Hz. An adaptive mode automatically balances noise reduction and ambient transparency, with tailored presets for airplanes, subways, and buses. Voice calls rely on 3 microphones working alongside a bone conduction sensor to isolate speech and reduce heavy wind noise.
Playback reaches 11 hours on a single charge with noise cancellation turned off, extending to 50 hours when paired with the charging case. A 5 minute quick charge yields up to 2 hours of listening time, and the case supports standard wireless chargers. The earbuds carry an IP54 rating against dust and water splashes. Additional software features include simultaneous connection to 3 devices, spatial audio with multiple profiles, a 10 band equalizer, and personalized audio tuning based on a hearing test. vivo offers the earbuds in black and white finishes.
