Honor introduced its Robot Phone, which represents a new hardware category at the 2026 MWC in Barcelona together with its first international showing of the Magic V6 foldable device, MagicPad 4 and Honor MagicBook Pro 14 2026. The Robot Phone includes a robotic arm which extends from its chassis to support a specialized camera system. The system operates using a 3 axis gimbal which was developed through a partnership with the German company ARRI that makes cinematic equipment. The hardware enables users to achieve stabilization and tracking functionality which was previously only available through external gimbal systems.

The system employs a 4DoF (four degrees of freedom) gimbal mechanism which operates through a micro motor for its mechanical control function. The motor construction uses 2800Mpa high performance materials to create a product that has a smaller size than previous industry benchmarks.

The motorized arm can track subjects automatically during video calls or recordings. The system enables users to control the device through gesture and voice commands which include using camera nodding to verify AI assistant instructions.

The ARRI technology enables users to create 90 degree and 180 degree spinshots while conducting real time AI video editing operations. Honor plans to introduce the Robot Phone to the Chinese market during the second half of 2026. The company has not yet announced international distribution details.

Honor shared a short preview of their ongoing humanoid robot development work. The company provided few details about the robot's technical capabilities but confirmed its design for specific operational tasks.

The robot will assist customers in retail and shopping situations. The robot will conduct inspection tasks in workplaces and monitoring tasks. The robot will provide supportive companionship to people while interacting with them at home.

The introduction of these high end devices is a strategic move to grow Honor's presence outside of China. The brand held a 3% market share in Europe during the year 2025. The Robot Phone functions as a technical demonstration which helps the brand establish its market value while memory chip costs increase expenses for global smartphone production. The success of Honor in 2026 depends on whether its hardware innovations can balance their high price tags against the economic constraints of the consumer market.
