ZTE's Nubia brand has published More official images of the NaviX Ultra to reveal the 1st detailed look at its unique software ecosystem. The hardware features flat sides, a horizontal camera array, and 1 bright orange button mapped to virtual assistant tasks. But the real breakthrough lies under the hood, where a new protocol completely changes how the built in assistant talks to your apps.
The manufacturer calls the NaviX Ultra the 1st smartphone powered by a complete AI agent. This system relies on the Doubao virtual assistant, which performs tasks directly inside other programs at your request. Instead of scanning the screen and simulating physical taps on buttons, Doubao connects directly to external applications. This is done through the Model Context Protocol, which creates a direct bridge between the assistant and 3rd party services.
For this system to work, app developers must manually add support for the new protocol. The team behind Doubao is already negotiating with creators of popular services to allow the assistant to access specific data. On the physical side, the newly released images show the device in 3 colors, specifically black, white, and blue. The clean layout suggests a premium build, but we are still waiting for ZTE to share the final processing specs and pricing.
