vivo has officially confirmed that the X500 Pro series will debut the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro processor. The upcoming flagship lineup introduces a dual super core CPU layout developed through 3 years of joint engineering between both companies. The new smartphones are scheduled to make their official retail debut later this month.
The announcement came directly from vivo senior vice president and chief technology officer Shi Yujian during the MediaTek flagship product event. Development of the Dimensity 9600 Pro focused heavily on a dual super core processing structure proposed by the phone maker. This design philosophy abandons single heavy core bottlenecks to distribute demanding workloads across 2 primary compute engines. Both companies spent 3 years fine tuning the silicon to balance thermal output with sustained peak speeds.
Camera capabilities also received deep attention during the engineering phase. vivo and MediaTek co created the BlueCrystal chip technology stack to optimize how the camera hardware communicates with the underlying silicon. This collaboration introduces 5 specific imaging upgrades aimed at computational photography and low light video processing. By building the image processing pipeline directly into the processor foundation, the system reduces power draw while processing complex visual data.
The X500 Pro series marks the next major release for the brand. vivo plans to reveal complete specifications, camera sensors, and pricing during the full product unveiling later this month. Competition in the flagship Android sector is heating up, and this hardware launch will show whether the dual super core architecture gives MediaTek an edge over competing chipsets.
